What is Viing?

Is Viing free to use?
It’s free to create a Viing occasion.
If you choose to spend your money pot with one of our retail partners, it’s completely free. If you choose to transfer the money directly into a UK bank account, there is a 5% charge. This is to cover transaction costs and enables us to continue offering our service.

How can I change the occasion deadline?
Simply log into your account dashboard, find your occasion under 'my occasions,' and click 'Extend' to change the occasion deadline.

Can I make contributions optional?
Yes, you can select this option when setting up your occasion or by clicking 'Settings' - 'General' - 'Optional Contributions.'

How many friends can contribute towards my Viing occasion?
There is no limit to the number of participants. The more, the merrier!

Is there a minimum number of contributions?
Viing is designed for group gifting, and we require a minimum of 3 contributions by the end of the occasion. If the minimum is not reached, you can extend the occasion or request refunds for contributions. Please note that refunds incur a 5% administration fee and may take up to 12 business days to process.

Can I have several occasions open at the same time?
Absolutely. You can manage each occasion via your account dashboard. Viing also helps you keep track of contributions and sends automated reminders to your friends if you invite them through the platform.

How does Viing chase on my behalf? How does the reminder service work?
If you invite people via Viing, they will receive reminders a couple of days before the deadline and on the day of the occasion deadline. Reminders can be turned off for each individual occasion if desired.

Can the recipient be outside the UK?
Electronic cards can be sent to anyone with an email address. Physical cards and products can currently only be sent within the UK. If you’re looking for international shipping,please get in touch with the team at hi@viing.co.uk and we will do our best to help. Additional charges for international shipping may apply.

Could I use Viing just for the group card service and not the money collection?
Yes, you can choose to use Viing solely for the group card service without adding a money pot and vice versa. Our service is fully flexible!

Can I arrange a money pot without a greetings card or eCard?
Yes, you can create a money pot without selecting a greetings card or eCard. This is particularly useful for a quick whip-round.

What happens when the deadline hits?
When the deadline is reached, you can log into your account, click 'withdraw,' and choose how to use the money and messages collected.

Can I cancel my occasion?
If your occasion has had no contributions, you can cancel and delete your occasion at any time. If you have received contributions, please get in touch with us. In exceptional circumstances, we may be able to arrange refunds. Please note all refunds incur a 5% fee.

I am having trouble with my occasion, what can I do?

Is the greetings card compulsory?
The greetings card is an optional extra we offer. We believe it is a nice, easy way to add a personal touch to a group gift so that your recipient knows exactly who to thank.

Can I cancel my occasion?
Please drop us an email to hi@viing.co.uk. If the occasion hasn’t ended or been withdrawn, all contributions can be refunded. Refunds are processed via Stripe UK. Please note there is a 5% administration fee for all refunds and it can take up to 12 business days from the day the refund is processed for the funds to appear in the original cardholder's account. Please email us at team@viing.com to request a cancellation and refund.

Contributions

Do I have to create an account to contribute to an occasion Viing?
No, you can contribute to an occasion without creating an account. However, having a Viing account allows you to view your historic contributions and make changes to any message.

Is there a minimum contribution amount?
The minimum contribution amount is £1. However, the organiser may set contributions as optional or suggest an amount for contributors to contribute.

Can I amend my messages once they have been submitted?
If you have registered an account with Viing, you’ll be able to amend your message provided the occasion is still running and has not yet been closed by the organiser.

Will others see how much I have contributed?
No, contributed amounts are hidden. The message you leave for the occasion will be visible to everyone who has access to the occasion's unique occasion URL link. The total money pot will always show a live balance of the total collected.

Is my contribution refundable?
Refunds can only be given in exceptional circumstances if the occasion is still open for contributions and has not been completed by the organiser. Refunds incur a 5% processing fee, which will be deducted from the refunded amount.

How do I know my contribution has registered?
A message at the end of the process confirms that your contribution has registered. You will also receive an email receipt to confirm your contribution.

What options are there for the group messages? How do I know which one is right for me?
The Classic Viing group card is a physical greetings card that can be sent directly to the recipient, while the ViingBoard is new online message board where contributors can leave messages and photos.

What is a Classic Viing occasion?
A Classic Viing occasion refers to an occasion where a physical greetings card is sent to the recipient. Contributors can leave messages and photos in the card.

Can I send a physical card to me first with an extra envelope?
Yes, you can send the physical card to yourself first with an extra envelope.

How long does it take for the physical card and gift(s) to arrive?
Physical cards and gifts are usually dispatched within 2 business days and sent with Royal Mail 1st Class post. We recommend allowing at least 7 business days to account for any unexpected postal delays.

Is there still an instant ecard option with the Classic Viing?
Yes, there is an ecard option that can be delivered instantly or scheduled for a later date. Classic eCards available from £3.

How much does a Classic group greetings card cost?
We offer 2 card sizes depending on how many messages have been collected;
- Small cards - £4.59 + p&p
- Large A4 - £7.48 + p&p -
What happens if I have too many messages to fit onto one greetings card?
Our large A4 cards fit a surprisingly high number of messages. However, if we are unable to fit all the messages in our large card, we will get in touch to advise on the options we can offer.

What is a ViingBoard?
Viingboard is an online group ecard/message board where contributors can leave messages and photos. It is a digital alternative to the physical greetings card.

What does the ‘reply all’ feature do?
When the Recipient receives their Viingboard via email, they can click ‘Reply all’ to send a thank you note to everyone who has contributed to their occasion. Please note, only one message can be sent and it is only the recipient who has access to this feature.

Can I schedule delivery of the Viingboard for a later date?
Yes - delivery can be instant or scheduled at a later date. You can also check if your recipient has opened their Viingboard by logging into your Viing dashboard and clicking ‘order details’
